Key Points:
  1. Roadworks - You must stay at the posted speed limit.
  2. Shoulder Checks - Always know what is next to you. Turn your head 90' degrees, before merging, changing lanes, using flush medians or turning bays and before turning left check the cycle and bus lanes.
  3. Stop Sign - You must fully stop. All 4 wheels must stop moving. Pause before moving.

In General:
  1. You must use the flush medians and turning bays when available .
  2. Don't rush and stay under the speed limit.
  3. When parallel parking use the space behind you, take your time and recheck the right side.
  4. Avoid bottlenecks, look ahead and just let go of the speed and roll up.
  5. You must indicate to pass parked cars, if your vehicle moves over white lines and or over the middle of the road.
  6. You must see 100 meters on each side before turning.
  7. When following trucks or buses uphill or on high speed zones double your following distance.

  1. When turning right at a Giveway Sign, you must wait until the other vehicle has passed you before moving forward.
  2. When parallel parking, don't get too close to the parked car.
  3. When turning left check your blindspot before moving in. Don't move in too early.

In General:
  1. You must not remain stationary when you have ample opportunity to proceed safely.
  2. You must stop behind the white line when waiting at traffic lights.
  3. When using the off ramps, don't get too slow before moving off.

Lesson Notes:
  1. Steering / Hand Position - Move your hands to make big turns, When driving straight keep your hands on the wheel. Turn the wheel back.
  2. Left Turn - Angel the car and check the cycle lane before turning, the left blindspot. You must see 100meters on each side before moving out.
  3. Right Turn - Avoid cutting corners, stay on your side of the road. Don't move forward while oncoming vehicle is still turning right.
  4. Parallel Parking - Check center mirror before stopping. Use the space behind you.
  5. 3 Point Turn - You must indicate right and check your right blindspot.

Key Points:
  1. Don't look down at gears when changing gears.
  2. Make big turns, move your hands up when turning.
  3. Be in 1st or 2nd gear before turning.
  4. Look outward and off the road when searching for hazards.
  5. When turning left and angle the car.
  6. Push the clutch fully in before changing gears.
  7. Be slow before turning on blind corners.
  8. Let go of the clutch before turning, don't ride the clutch around.
  9. Don't get too close to parked cars, when moving through narrow roads.
  10. When stopped down hill, just use the foot brake. Let the car roll down the hill.
  11. Use the hand braking when doing hill starts.
  12. Use 1st or 2nd when going over speed bumps.

  1. Dual Lane Roundabout - Must giveway to cars in the roundabout and on your right side. Check both lanes before moving in.
  2. Traffic Lights - Don't stop on the cycle lane.
  3. Lane Changing - Check your blindspot before moving in.
  4. Right Turn / Poor Gap Selection - Waiting for no reason. (+5 seconds).
  5. Flush Median - Poor position when turning right, wrong side of the road.

Critical Errors:
  1. Onramp - Use all of the onramp and keep indicating till all 4 wheels are in the other lane.
  2. Right Turn - Avoid cutting corners, stay on your side of the road.
  3. Left Turn Dual Lanes - Waiting too long for no reason. (+5 seconds)

Critical Errors:
  1. Turning Bays & Flush Medians - You must use them. Merge into them, nothing sudden. Indicate and check blindspot before moving in. All  4 wheels must be in the lane, if possible.

Needs Improvement:
  1. Left Turn - Angel the car and check the cycle lane before turning, the left blindspot.
  2. Dual Lane Roundabout - Be comfortable using them.
  3. Giveway Sign - Don't stop for no reason.
  4. Parallel Parking - Check center mirror before stopping.
  5. Narrow Roads - Check the center mirror and blindspot before moving around parked cars.
  6. Cross Roads / Green Lights - You must check both sides before moving through.
  7. Parking - Check the center mirror and blindspot before moving in or out.
  8. U- Turn - Turn your head, Check your blindspot.
  9. Scanning / Turning - You must see 100 meters on each side before turning.

Key Points:

  1. Carpark - Keep left, stay on your side of the road.
  2. Vehicle Position - Keep reasonably to the left.
  3. Road Works / Cones - You must slow down to posted speed limits.
  4. Turn Left With Care - Slow down for the turn but don't stop for no reason.
  5. Turning - Be slow before turning, aim for 20km.
  6. Steering / Hand Position - Move your hands and keep your hands on the wheel. Make big turns when needed. Don't twist your hands. Turn the wheel back.
  7. Left Turn - Angel the car and check the cycle lane before turning, the left blindspot.
  8. More Searching - Move your chin, look outward. Turn your head to check your blindspot. 
  9. Narrow Roads - Look ahead, avoid bottlenecks and indicate to pass parked cars.
  10. Orange Lights - Don't rush to go through them.
  11. Lane Changing and Merging - Nothing sudden and know it's safe before indicating. Indicate till all 4 wheels are in the other lane.
  12. Turning and Gap Selection - Be Ready before, check and recheck both sides while waiting to turn. If you can't see, tell the testing officer you are edging forward to see. You must see atleast 100meters on each side.
  13. U - Turn - Keep left, Indicate right and recheck your right blindspot. Don't get too close to the parked cars.
  14. Parking On Roadside - You must indicate left and check your left blindspot, before braking. No more than 30cm from the curb.
  15. Parallel Parking - Recheck the right side, take your time and move. You have 2 minutes and you can go back and forth 4 times. Use the space behind you. Indicate and check before stopping. You must be less than 30cm from the curb.
  16. Following Instructions - If you miss a turn keep moving, don't stop in the middle of the road.
  17. Dual Lane Roundabouts - Be ready before, look for cover vehicles on your left side and in front. Stay behind the white line. Givieway to vehicles from your right. Indicate to exit.
  18. Green Light - Check both sides before moving through.
  19. Pedestrian Crossing - Check both sides and don't stop on them.

  5. Sharp or blind corners - Nothing sudden, as you approach just let the car roll around the corners. Cover your brake and be prepared to react. Keep reasonably to the left.

  8. Curved Dual Lane Roads - Stay in your lane, avoid having vehicles in your blindspot.
