Stop fully at stop signs. Stop, Pause and then move.

Before entering roundabouts know which exit you are going to take.

Key Points:

More searching required, before and after turning, when changing lanes and before and after intersections. Move you chin when looking outward.

When waiting in a queue stay back and be able to see the ground between you and the vehicle in front of you.

In General:

In the carpark go slow and beware of other vehicles backing out.

When turning slow down to around 20km and roll around. Don't brake hard before the turns.

When changing lanes, don't suddenly move into the other lane.

When entering a turning bay check your blindspot before moving into it.

Parallel Parking recheck the right side.

On wide roads keep left .

When merging you have to always indicate and check your blindspot.

When turning right from one lane into two lane road, you must stay in the right lane.

When stopping by the road side you must always indicate left and check your left blindspot.

Critical Errors
  • When changing lanes or merging don't brake suddenly.
  • When braking or slowing down, always know what is behind you. Check your center mirror.
  • Keep a safe following distance when following trucks (4 seconds)
  • Drive to the road conditions, when the road gets narrow.
  • Parallel Parking take your time and find several reference to see where the car is going. Recheck right side and right blindspot don't get too focused on the left side.
  • When turning left or right you must see 100 meters on each side, don't go because the vehicle next to you is turning.
  • On dual lane roundabouts check and know it is safe before moving.
  • Lane changing and merging make sure you keep indicating till all 4 wheels are in the other lane.
  • 3 Point Turn - You must indicate right on the third turn.
  • When turning right on narrow roads don't cut the corner, find the center and keep on your side of the road.

Needs Improvements
  • When turning left angle the car with road.
  • Traffic lights always check both sides, even when green.
  • When one lane splits into two lanes, aim to keep in the left lane.
  • Keep your heel on the ground and push the accelerator or brake with your toes and not your whole foot.
  • When waiting at lights stay back incase the vehicle in front rolls back.
  • Keep Reasonably to the left, you can drive over empty bus stops.
  • On curved roads let the car roll around, don't brake on the corner.
  • Roundabouts with multiple lanes beware of the cars in the other lane they might cross over into your lane. Look ahead don't brake hard and angle the car with the road.
  • You are allowed to move your hands and make big turns when needed.
  • Check all side streets, look ahead and outwards. Cover your brake but don't brake suddenly
  • Changing lanes or merging in a high speed zone, check and recheck your blindspot/shoulder check but don't keep looking. Just do a quick glance over your shoulder.
  • When driving on multiple lanes be prepared to change lanes, know who is in your blindspot, avoid having vehicles in your blindspot.
  • While waiting to turn check both sides and be ready before.
  • When doing a U Turn at a dead end road keep left all the way through the turn

Give more detail about hazards and how you would avoid them.

Stay back when waiting in a queue at traffic lights.

When changing lanes don't indicate and slow down in your lane. Check before and if safe, indicate and merge into the other lane. When you are in multiple lanes, know who is next to you and behind you. Be prepared to change lanes.

When stopping on the road side, don't block driveways or stop on yellow lines.

When changing lanes or merging you must keep indicating till all 4 wheels are in the other lane.

When approaching traffic lights to turn right, don't rush to make the turn.

When driving on narrow roads or roads with blind corners drive to the road conditions, keep left  and don't rush.

When merging, lane changing or entering turning bays you must indicate and check your blindspot.

Don't speed up to slow down, use the cars momentum to your advantage to roll around corners

On narrow roads when going uphill you have the right of way, but beware of other vehicles speeding downhill.

You must see 100 meters on each side before turning left, angle your car with the road.

When driving on narrow roads you are allowed to drive over empty bus stops. Keep left and on your side of the road.

When waiting to turn at dual lane roundabouts don't go because the vehicle next to you is moving, make sure you know its safe before moving.

At stop signs you must stop, pause and when safe move.

When turning right from the middle of the road don't stop for no reason.

When following large vehicles stay 4 seconds behind, have enough room to see ahead.

Beware of trucks with hazard lights on, they might be reversing or making a wide turn into a driveway. Stay back.

Parallel Parking - Recheck the right blindspot and use the space behind you.

Lesson 3 

When other vehicles are merging into your lane, look ahead and check your blindspot for other vehicles

Roundabout - speed and steering unreasonably slow, main cause - applicants making really small turns.

Left and right turns were slow, the main cause - applicants making really small turns.

Steering - Make big turns when needed, move your hands. Left turns - angle the car with the road.

Changing down gears -  don't ride from 4,3,2,1 . Let go of the clutch between each gear.

Entering turning bays - don't brake hard to enter then, merge in and check your blindspot.

U Turn - Failed to notice a dead end road. Poor reaction time.

Don't indicate through intersections, especially left. Other vehicles might think you are turning left and pull out.

Aim to stop on orange lights, don't rush to get through.

All intersections check both sides and center mirror before and check center mirror once through.

Left turn into HSZ - Poor speed control, too slow

Right Turn downhill - Don't ride the clutch around the corner.

Right Turn - Don't cut the corner.

U turn - indicate and check blindspot before turning.

PedX with speed bump - check both sides and center mirror, slow down to 20km and roll over if safe. Pedx with no speed bump don't slow down for no reason, cover your brake, check and roll over.

Parallel Parking - Recheck right side

Don't move into the turning bays too early, under 50 meters (1 lamp post away)
