Mt Wellington Lesson Notes:

Immediate Fail:

1. Left Turn at Traffic Light with Giveway Sign - Use cover vehicles to your advantage. Know it's safe before moving. Stay in your lane.

Critical Errors:

1. Parallel Parking - Recheck the right side, take your time and move. You have 2 minutes and you can go back and forth 4 times. Use the space behind you. Indicate and check before stopping. You must be less than 30cm from the curb.
2. Turning Bays & Flush Medians - You must use them. Merge into them, nothing sudden. Indicate and check blindspot before moving in. All  4 wheels must be in the lane, if possible.
3. 3 Point Turn - You must indicate right and check your right blindspot.
4. Shoulder Checks / Blindspot Checks - Always check before moving left or right. Turn your head 90 degrees.

Needs Improvement:​​​

1. Aux Controls - Steering Lock, know how to unlock, if the steering wheel is locked.
2. Roundabouts - You must indicate left before exiting. Don't rush to enter. Use the cover vehicles. Angle the car with the center island.
3. Narrow Roads - Look ahead, avoid bottlenecks and indicate to pass parked cars. Keep reasonable to the left.
4. Left Turn - Angel the car and check the cycle lane before turning, the left blindspot. Keep left.
5. Right Turns - Don't move forward while other vehicles are turning. Find the center of the road before turning. Don't cut corners on narrow roads.
6. Steering / Hand Position - Move your hands and keep your hands on the wheel. Make big turns when needed. Don't twist your hands. Don't drop your hands when slowing down.
7. More Searching - Move your chin, look outward. Turn your head to check your blindspot.
