 Key Points to Focus On:

• Check the key fob battery warning light before your driving test.
• Improve gap selection at roundabouts and when making left and right turns at intersections.
• Practise indicating correctly during:
  • Roundabouts
  • Parallel parking
  • U-turns
  • Three-point turns
  • Curbside parking

General Notes:

​🔵 Left Turns

• Do not rush to turn.
• Give way to all vehicles travelling straight.
• Angle the car to match the road.
• Make sure you can see at least 100 metres in both directions before turning.
• Check your left blind spot, especially for cyclists and pedestrians.

🔵 Roundabouts

• Give way to vehicles approaching from your right.
• Look for and use cover vehicles to help judge safe gaps.
• Stay in your lane.
• Always indicate left when exiting.

🔵 U-Turns

• Indicate right before moving.
• Check your centre mirror and perform a clear right blind spot check.
• Complete the manoeuvre smoothly while staying on the roadway.

🔵 Curbside Parking

• Indicate left and check your left blind spot before slowing down and stopping.
• Park within 30 cm of the kerb.
• Before moving out, indicate right, check your centre mirror, and perform a right blind spot check before merging safely into traffic.

🔵 Right Turns

• Do not rush.
• Wait for a safe gap and follow the give way rules.
• Make sure you can see at least 100 metres in both directions before turning.
• Stay on your side of the road and avoid cutting corners.

🔵 Parallel Parking

• Use the space behind your vehicle.
• Take your time—you have 2 minutes and up to 4 movements.
• Indicate left before stopping.
• Before moving out, recheck your centre mirror, right side, and right blind spot.

🔵 Three-Point Turns

• Indicate right on the third movement before pulling away.
• Check your right blind spot before moving.
• Maintain good observation throughout the manoeuvre.

🔵 Flush Medians & Turning Bays

• Use flush medians and turning bays where provided.
• Indicate and check your blind spot before moving into them.
• Move into the flush median or turning bay first, then slow down smoothly.
• Wait for a safe gap before completing your turn.
