Don't just move forward - they might think you are taking off.
If there are vehicles coming from the left and you can sort of see them, wait for them to pass and then tell the testing officer you are moving forward to see.

When you approach an intersection, and you can't see after you have stopped, tell the testing officer you are moving a little bit forward to see.

This animation gives an overview of the two rule changes from both a birds-eye and driver perspective.
Changes To Parallel Parking Marking Outline (April 2013)
The change in the wording clarifies, that the student has 4 movements to park the vehicle. The first movement starts when they start reversing backwards into the car park. The minimum number of 2 movements has been removed as this was also misleading (so there is now no minimum number of movements listed anymore). Things you need to do if you want to pass your driving test....
Using on-ramps when entering and leaving a motorway
A yellow signal means stop, unless you are so close to the intersection that you can't stop safely. A yellow signal indicates that the lights will soon turn red.
It's NOT a question of maybe they will make me parallel park for the restricted test... THE TESTING OFFICERS WILL MAKE YOU PARALLEL PARK !!!!!
Penrose Driver Test Center:
Dual lane right turn, before finishing the driving test, you will need to stay in your own lane, as you turn right from the left lane. Two lanes before you enter the intersection and 2 lanes as you leave. Know that there is another lane on your right side. Check to see if there is a truck, bus or car in that lane. If its a bus or truck they will go wide, be prepared for that. Position your vehicle so it will not be next to another, either be infront or behind but never next to another vehicle when turning a sharp corner.
The learners, restricted and full New Zealand Driving Test's are easy to pass but they are also really easy to FAIL. If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail your driving test.
