- Center Mirror Usage - Check the center mirror every 10-15 seconds on a straight road. Check the mirror before braking.
- Blindspot Checks / Shoulder Checks - You must check your left blindspot when moving to the left and right blindspot when moving to the right. Turn your head 90 degrees to the left or right. Don't twist your body, keep your chin up and look next to you.
- More Scanning / Searching Ahead - Activity search for potential hazards, try to see 100 meters on each side. Move your chin and move your head. Check all intersections. Don't lean forward while moving forward.
General Points:
- Car Park / Parking Bays - When leaving the carpark keep left and and stay on your side of the road. Indicate and check your blindspots before moving in or out.
- Transit Lanes (T2) - You can use them when doing your test. Remember to merge in and of them and always indicate and check your blindspot
- Narrow Roads - Look ahead, avoid bottlenecks, keep reasonable to the left and indicate to pass parked cars.
- Right Turns - Find the center of the road before turning, don't rush and don't cut the corners to turn. Keep on your side of the road.
- U Turn - Keep left, indicate right and check your right blindspot, recheck your right blindspot as you finish the U Turn.
- 3 Point Turn - You must indicate right and check your right blindspot on the 3rd turn. Use the space around you. Stay on the road.
- Parallel Parking - Check and recheck your right blindspot. Indicate left before stopping and use the space behind you.
- Parking Curb-side - You must indicate and check your blindspot before braking. Vehicle must be under 30cm from the curb. Must be 6 meters from an intersection.
- Vehicle Position - Keep left reasonable, more left then right. You can drive over empty bus stops.
- Turning Only Lanes - Must indicate keep indicating while waiting to turn and always check blindspots before moving in. Don't move suddenly.
- Keep Clear Zones - Avoid stopping on them
- Stop Sign - Stop, pause, check both sides and then move.
- Pedestrian Crossing - Check both side and center mirror, cover your brake before moving through. Don't stop on it.
- Speed Bumps - Be slow before and roll over, check the center mirror before braking and look off the road on both sides.
- Roundabouts - Must give way to cars on your right. Angle the car to the left and look for cover vehicles on your left. Alway indicate left before exiting.
- Dual Lane Right Turn - You must stay in your lane. Don't have vehicles in your blindspot.
- Give Way Signs / Gap Selection - Be Slow enough to give way. Don't stop for no reason. Be ready to move while waiting. Follow the give way rule not what other drivers tell you to do.
- Sharp Corners / Curved Roads / Blind Corners - Keep left and roll around. Cover your brake but don't brake hard. Find the center and keep on your side.
- Following Distance - Double your following distance when behind trucks and buses.
- All Intersections / Traffic Lights - Don't queue across them. Check both sides always and have enough room on the other side before entering. Don't be too close to the vehicle in front.
- Dual Lane Roundabout - Must give way to cars on your right. Angle the car to the left and look for cover vehicles on your left. Indicate left to exit. Stay in your lane.
- Dual Lanes - You must stay in your lane. Don't have vehicles in your blindspot. Always have a buffer space around you.
