Class 2 and 4 Truck Lessons
Alert Driving School Trucks
•Class 2L and 2F - Medium rigid vehicles
•Class 4L and 4F - Heavy rigid vehicles
You are required to hold:
•a full car (class 1) driver licence for at least six months before applying for a class 2 learner licence.
•a full class 2 licence for at least six months (three months, if you're 25 years or older) before applying for a class 3 or 4 learner licence.
•a full class 4 licence for six months (three months, if you're 25 years or older) before applying for a class 5 learner licence.
There are two parts involved in getting your Truck Licence
•Part 1 – Learner Licence (Theory)
•Part 2 – Full Licence (Practical)
To get your learners truck licence you must pass a theory test and present a medical certificate to get your learners truck licence.
To get your full truck licence you must have held that vehicle class for 6 months and then pass a practical test. Or complete an approved course for that class, once you have completed the course, present your course certificate with your licence to get your licence, you don’t have to do a practical test.

• Class 2 - $175.00/hr (minimum 3hr)
• Class 4 - $275.00/hr (minimum 3hr)
