I took one of my students around the Mt Wellington test area today. Another lesson loop:
My students have trouble seeing the street on the right side of the road. I would recommend that you look for the lamp facing the other way. The other options is the speed sign of the left side of the road or the dashed lines on the center of the road Roadworks on Triangle Road 18th June 2015. You will need to drive at 30km till you pass the work ends sign.
For your driving test: Only change one lane at a time, Unless the testing officer tells you to move into the far right lane to turn right and there isn't enough room to do change one lane at a time.

Manukau Route
Westgate Route:
Howick Route:
When ever you see multiple lanes, think the testing officer will make me change lanes. Position your vehicle so you are always ready to change lanesI recently had a student failed there driving test in Penrose on Part 2, with Three Critical Errors
Instructions for Driving Test
Do you have any questions?
Don't drive next to other vehicles if you don't have to.
A vehicle in the next lane could move into your lane at any time without warning. Vehicles in the next lane can also block your escape if you run into danger in your own lane. Speed up or drop back until you find a place that is clear on both sides.
For your driving test you are required to drive within 5km of the speed without exceeding it. However you are also required to drive the the road conditions.
During your driving test you will be require to do U-turns. Most of them will at "No Exit" roads or from the left shoulder once you have pulled over. You however you might need to do a U-Turn at a Roundabout
Shoulder Checking , Blind Spot Check: What you call it you have to check before you move.If you are doing your driving test in a manual vehicle, make sure you use 1st or 2nd for all your left and right turns. If you turn in 3rd gear you won't have enough power to speed up.
Aim for 20km (2nd gear) for all your turns. If you are coming up to a STOP or Giveway, Slow down and go into first. In working towards the most efficient use of the city's roads, Auckland Transport is trialling new ways to mark bus and transit lanes. These changes are aimed to help motorists identify the 50m maximum entry point where they can move into a bus/transit lane in order to turn left at an intersection.
Changes to road markings include:
Its not a trick the testing officers play on you, to make you fail. They are marking you on your Observation Skills.
